![]() Initially cautious and unsure of herself, she found the courage to let go of worry and the need for perfectionism in her practice. Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher – 200 hr Foundations of Yin Yoga – 50 hr Reiki I & II Certified Practitioner Reiki Master Level Attunement received through Aura Vista Healing Julie Iatron discovered yoga in 2013 as a way to help cope with her grief after the unexpected passing of her father-in-law. This will be the perfect way to let go of what no longer serves us and prepare for new growth to come. Our bodies will mirror the natural cycle of life, like trees shedding their leaves as they prepare for winter. From an energetic perspective, Yin Yoga explores the concepts of yielding, being receptive, and being open.ĭuring this workshop, you will hold static poses for longer periods of time in order to experience sensation in those areas and notice how your body and mind react to those holds. Yin Yoga is believed to help hydrate these connective tissues, assist in removing toxins from the body, prevent the shortening of the tissues around the joints, allow mobility in the joints, and maintain our spinal structure. Unlike active Yang yoga, which targets the muscles of the body, the primary intention of Yin Yoga is to focus on the dense connective tissues of the body. This class will focus on the lung and large intestine meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with an emphasis on extension and flexion of the upper body, through which both meridian lines pass. Join Julie Iatron for a 90 minute Yin workshop that invites us to slow down, let go, and come to stillness as we shift from periods of growth and harvesting to one of dormancy. It is a chance for us to cultivate balance in our bodies and spirits, to turn within, and to allow our yoga practice to reflect the changes of the season. This day is an opportunity to celebrate on our efforts during the first half of the year and to prepare for the upcoming dormant season. The Autumnal Equinox marks the end of summer and its fiery Yang energy and begins the transition towards the quieter, cooler Yin season of winter. ![]() There are two equinoxes in the calendar, one in March and one in September, and these are the two days each year where day and night are almost equal, where the amounts of light and darkness are the same. The word “equinox” comes from the Latin aequus, meaning equal, and nox, meaning night. Those attending online will have access to this recording for 14 days from the date the workshop runs. $25 Pre-Registration / $35 day of workshop W/ Julie Iatron in the RCY Loft & Online via Zoom Restorative Yoga Teacher Training w/ Theresa Murphyįall Into Autumn: A Yin Yoga Equinox Celebration.Yin Yoga Teacher Training w/ Theresa Murphy. ![]() Yoga Therapy: Breathing Better for Life.Spring ReNEWal: Slow Flow Yoga w/ Live Music!. ![]()
